Judge Robert Rusu Jr. of Youngstown, OH; ethical troll

The state of Ohio presented Robert Nathaniel Rusu Jr. with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Gov. John Kasich was duped into appointing Bobby as the Mahoning County Probate Judge in 2014. Bobby didn’t get the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Youngstown area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Bobby guilty of the following conduct, some of which took place before he ascended to the bench.

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to disqualify himself as a judge in a matter where his impartiality would be reasonably questioned
  • Failed to avoid the appearance of impropriety
  • Failed to remove himself from over 200 cases that he was involved as an attorney that came before him as the sole probate judge in Youngstown
  • Displayed bias in appointing prior law partners as guardians in various estate matters
  • Cheerfully approved requested fees requested by his former law partners
  • Improperly waived guardianship requirements for former partners

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Bobby by the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. (March 2018), Bobby continues to sit as the Mahoning County Probate Judge in Youngstown, Ohio.
