Attorney Michael Geisler of Pittsburgh; thieving Dumbo

The state of Pennsylvania provided Michael S. Geisler with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Initially charged with violating 43 Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Willfully failed to carry out contract of employment
  • Failed to refund unearned fee upon termination (thief)
  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Intentionally failed to seek client lawful objectives
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to deliver funds to client as requested by client
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to comply with client information requests
  • Failed to expedite client litigation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2018) Mike practices at 201 Penn Center Blvd in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

CAUTION: Mike is not covered by legal malpractice insurance
