Attorney Teresa Straley of Marina del Rey; lying loser
The California Supreme Court made a monumental error in judgment when it presented Teresa Straley with a license to practice law in 2007.
Prior to applying for a law license with the Supreme Court, Terry was stopped by a Los Angeles city park ranger who believed she was not in control of her three dogs. When she was stopped, Teresa gave the ranger a false name and refused to provide her address.
At a hearing with the city attorney, the question of whether Terry provided false information was resolved without criminal charges. Terry then sued the ranger and the city of
About a year later when Terry applied for a law license, she disclosed the sham lawsuit in her moral character section; however, she claimed the park ranger wrote the name Mary Smith before she could provide her true name.
Subsequently, Terry admitted in stipulating that she engaged in misconduct, that her statements were false.
Shortly thereafter, Terry settled her sham lawsuit against the City of Los Angles for false arrest by paying the City $600.
As a consequence of her egregious misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Calfiornia Bar Court punished Terry by gifting her with a 30-day suspension of her law license.
Because Attorney Misfits in California are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Terry was never criminally charged for perjury even though she admitted that her statements were false.
