Judge Douglass North of Seattle; ethical troll

The state of Washington provided Douglass North with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of Washington Law School.

The Commission on Judicial Conduct found Doug guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in overt biased conduct aimed at witness in criminal trial
• Suggested to jury that the race of a witness likely meant that in he was a member of a Latino gang
• Failed to respect and comply with the law

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Doug by gifting him with a complimentary censure. 

As we speak (ca. February 2018), Doug continues to sit as King County Superior Court judge in Seattle, Washington.
