Attorney Michael Caliguiri of New York City; ethical troll

The state of New York presented Michael Caliguiri with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the Brooklyn Law School.

The 1st Department Disciplinary Board found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Accepted employment when the exercise of professional judgment on behalf of a client might have been affected by his own personal interest in the matter
  • Mikey’s wife improperly obtained confidential documents belonging to a client while she was an employee of the client – an insurance defense company in order to assist Mikey in prosecuting a medical malpractice case his firm was not assigned to defend

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Department Disciplinary Board punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. March 2018), Mikey practices with Bader Yakaitis & Nonnenmcacher LLP at 1430 Broadway in New York, New York.
