Attorney Patrick Carmody of New York City; serial fraudster

The state of New York presented Patrick Carmody with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from the University of Dublin Law School.

The 1st Department Disciplinary Board found Patty guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Over the course of two years, made personal telephone calls from his office at Wilkie, Farr & Gallagher, which he billed to various clients of the firm at a total of some $30,000
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Made at least 129 hours of personal long-distance calls to Ireland and the United Kingdom
  • Falsely claimed that calls to Ireland and United Kingdom pertained to various Wilkie cleint matters
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Department Disciplinary Board punished Patty by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2018), Patty practices with Carmody Legal PLLC at 244 5th Avenue in New York, New York.
