Attorney Jamal Summey of Scotland Neck, NC; ethical dwarf

The state of North Carolina presented Jamal M. Summey with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from North Carolina Central University Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Jamal guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter involving a homicide case in which Jamal’s law partner represented the defendant, Summey advised a potentially critical State’s witness to plead the Fifth Amendment. As a result, the court declared a mistrial.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Jamal gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
