Attorney Howard Broadman of Visalia, CA; vindictive loser, liar

The California Supreme Court presented Howard Broadman with a license to practice law in 1976.

In the mid-eighties, Howard succeeded in duping the voters in Visalia to elect him as a Municipal Court judge and in 1988 he was once again successful in scamming the voters into electing him as a Tulare County Superior Court judge.

During his tenure on the bench, the California Judicial Commission found Howard guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Denied litigants constitutional due process rights
  2. Improperly questioned witness by posing unanswerable questions to intimidate the witness
  3. Wrongfully stated in open court that an attorney was unethical and dishonest (mirror, mirror on the wall)
  4. Tricked defendant and his counsel into waiving time for sentencing
  5. Engaged in willful misconduct
  6. Publicly commented on cases pending in his court and/or the Court of Appeals
  7. Tried to affect the out come of a legal malpractice case in another court that involved an attorney against whom Howie bore personal animosity
  8. Howie was bereft of candor and integrity
As a consequence of his misconduct, the California Supreme Court punished Judge Broadman by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

It should be noted that the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the California State Bar Court never took any action against Howie.

Howard’s Mediation and Arbitration Services
After leaving the bench, Howard decided it was time to go into the mediation/arbitration business. On his website at www.judgebroadman.com, Howie has the chutzpah to state: “Committed to the fair and efficient resolution of your dispute.”

Howie then bills the following amounts to those seeking favorable rulings:
  1. $400 an hour for Mediations and Arbitrations
  2. $500 an hour when mediation/arbitration involves four or more law firms (suckers)
  3. $300 flat fee for travel up to three hours
Howie’s billing rate is an obscenity when compared to the $83 an hour paid to Superior Court judges in California.

As we speak (Dec 2011), Howard practices law at 300 N. Willis St., Visalia, CA – Censured 1998
