Attorney Marjorie Mann of Asheville, NC; guilty of forgery, liar

The state of North Carolina presented Marjorie Rowe Mann with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from Wake Forest University Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Margie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Forged signature on Substitute Trustee’s Deed
  • Falsely stated she was authorized to sing Substitute Trustee’s Deed
  • Instructed legal assistant to falsely notarize forged Deed, which is a felony
  • By instructing legal assistant to falsely notarize Deed, Marjorie was guilty of aiding and abetting the commission of a felony
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Knowingly made a false statement of material fact to a third person

As a direct consequence of her misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Margie by gifting her with a complimentary 4-year stayed suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Disciplinary Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Margie.

Because Attorney Misfits in North Carolina are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Margie was never prosecuted for forgery or fraud.

As we speak (ca. November 2018) Margie practices at 123 Stonecrest Drive in Asheville, North Carolina.
