Judge Patricia Kinsey of Pensacola; serial scofflaw

The state of Florida presented Patricia Ann Kinsey with a law license in 1992 after she graduated from Florida State University of Miami Law School.

The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission found Patty guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Exhibited total disrespect for the law
  • Engaged in a pattern of campaign activity misconduct
  • Failed to uphold the integrity/independence of the judiciary
  • Failed to comply with the law
  • Knowingly distributed numerous campaign ads that were egregious in misrepresenting the truth
  • Failed to perform judicial duties w/o bias or prejudice
  • Failed to be faithful to the law
  • Authorized or knowingly permitted another person to do for her what she as a judicial candidate was prohibited from doing
  • Improperly made pledges, promises, or commitments that were inconsistent with the impartial performance of the adjudicate duties of her judicial office
  • Knowingly misrepresented the identity, qualifications, present position or other fact concerning her qualification and/or that of her opponent

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Patty by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand and a $50,000 fine.

As we speak (ca. March 2018), Patty continues to sit as a 1st Judicial Circuit Court judge in Pensacola, Florida.
