Attorney Christopher Sheldon of Palm Springs; lazy, repeat offender

Christopher Sheldon was presented with a license to practice law by the California Supreme Court in 1974.

From 1989 to 2009, Christopher Sheldon was a Superior Court judge in Palm Springs, California.

During his unremarkable tenure on the bench, the Judicial Commission lodged misconduct charges against Sheldon, which are as follows:

1st bite at the Judicial Misfit Tree – 1998

From 1995 to 1996, Judge Sheldon frequently failed to take the bench or left the bench during portion of his calendar. He unlawfully allowed clerks to enter please and execute documents imposing sentence in his absence and stamp his signature on constitutional rights waiver forms.

On various occasions, Sheldon left the courthouse or would jog on a courthouse staircase during his pretrial calendar.

As a result of his misconduct, the apologists sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Judge Sheldon by gifting him with a complimentary public admonishment.

2nd bite at the Judicial Misfit Tree – 2009

In early 2009, the Judicial Commission found Judge Sheldon guilty of routinely leaving the courthouse before noon without receiving authorization from the supervising judge.

This was the same conduct that Sheldon was found guilty of eleven (11) years earlier in 1998. Obviously, Sheldon was never made to pay back the unearned wages to the overburdened California taxpayers.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers on the Judicial Commission punished Sheldon by gifting with a censure.

In addition, Sheldon agreed to never seek judicial office in the future. This wasn’t a big deal since it was highly unlikely that the voters in Palm Springs would ever vote this Lazy Loser into office again.

As we speak (ca. Dec 2011) Sheldon continues to practice law in the Palm Springs area.
