Rep. Pat Meehan (PA): Today’s “Public Official Misfit”

Patty succeeded in duping the voters in the greater Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, Berks and Lancaster counties into electing him as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2010.

It should be noted that Patty is another in a long list of loser attorneys that decided to go into politics after learning how difficult it was to earn a dishonest living practicing law. Therefore, he decided to go into the second most ethical profession (used car salesman No. 1), politics.

Patty recently (January 2018) admitted that taxpayer funds were used to settle a sexual harassment complaint that was filed against him by a former aide. As one would suspect, Patty denies the harassment charges but doesn’t deny the taxpayers funded the settlement of said harassment charges.

Patty told a Philadelphia Inquirer reporter that he acted “selfishly” when he discovered that the aide was dating someone else, and went on to admit that he “developed an affection” for her.

In a lame attempt at levity, Patty said he told his aide:

  • “I was a happily married man and I was not interested in a relationship, particularly not any sexual relationship, but we were soul mates.”

Clearly, Patty missed his calling as a Standup Comedian. The “I was a happily married man” is the same BS that we hear from serial adulterers like Donald “Trumporleone” Trump and Newt Gingrich.

House Speaker Paul Ryan has called on Meehan to pay back taxpayers for the settlement, and his office told The Hill in a statement that “any further action or comment will come pending a full and prompt investigation by the Ethics Committee.”  (Ben Kamisar)

And lastly, the voters will have an opportunity to tell Patty Baby to take a hike in November since he has the chutzpah to seek reelection. However, if he loses Patty can always obtain gainful employment as a greeter at the “Club Risqué” Strip Club on South Columbus Blvd in Philadelphia.

And if that doesn’t bear fruit, he can always enroll in a bartender’s course at “Aqua Vitae” bartending school at North 17th Street in Philly.
