Attorney Brent Kaneski of Winnipeg, CAN; lying loser

The Law Society of Manitoba presented Brent Christopher Anthony Kaneski with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from the University of Manitoba Law School.

The Manitoba Barrister’s Society found Brent guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to deposit client funds into client trust account
  • On at least ten (10) occasions received monies from his clients on behalf of fees, but failed to deposit those monies into the trust bank account of the firm where he practiced
  • Failed to account to his firm for fees received from numerous clients
  • On at least sixteen (16) withdrew monies from the firm's trust bank account for the recovery of fees and disbursements without a bill for such fees and disbursements being prepared and sent to his clients at the time the monies were withdrawn
  • Misled (lied) to client by advising her that he had received an offer to settle from the insurers for the defendant in the amount of $5,000.00, when in fact the offer was received in the he amount of $7,000.00
  • Knowingly engaged in professional misconduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Law Society punished Brent by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license and costs of $1,000.00.

As we speak (ca. March 2018), Brent practices with Booth Dennehy LLP at 387 Broadway in Winnipeg, Canada.
