Ohio Supreme Court Justice Terence O'Donnell; Dumbo, thief

After getting trounced by Justice Alice Robie Resnick for a seat on the Ohio Supreme Court in 2000 that left him without any source of income, Justice Terrence O'Donnell's mentor (aka, Sugar-Daddy) Chief Justice Thomas Moyer appointed him as a retired visiting judge. This led to the following thefts by Justice Terrence O'Donnell.

After the voters concluded on Nov. 2, 2000 that Justice Terrence O'Donnell wasn't qualified to sit on the Ohio Supreme Court, his Sugar Daddy Chief Justice Thomas Moyer came to his financial rescue (no reputable law firm in Cleveland was going to offer him a job) and immediately appointed him as a visiting retired judge. The lion's share of Chief Justice Thomas Moyer's appointments of Justice Terrence O'Donnell were to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court located in Cleveland.

At the time Chief Justice Thomas Moyer intervened on Justice Terrence O'Donnell's financial behalf, he lived in Rocky River, a suburb of Cleveland that is located in Cuyahoga County. He still lives in Rocky River as of 2009.

Under Ohio law, a visiting retired judge is prohibited from being paid travel expenses when appointed to his/her resident county. In other words, since Justice Terrence O'Donnell lived in Cuyahoga County and Chief Justice Thomas Moyer appointed to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court, he was not lawfully entitled to any travel expenses of any kind.

Apparently, Justice Terrence O'Donnell is not only a thief, he's a stupid thief to boot! Over the course of several months, Justice O'Donnell repeatedly billed Cuyahoga County for breakfast and lunch. He had the gonads to bill $.50 for coffee and/or bottled water. Justice O'Donnell also had the gall to charge Cuyahoga County 22 miles for each roundtrip he made from his Rocky River home to the Cleveland courthouse, which netted him a whopping $3.74 each way.

To be excruciatingly fair to Justice Terrence O'Donnell, maybe he just didn't recognize that he actually lived in Cuyahoga County even though the County Auditor billed him annually for property taxes. If this be true, then I guess he's just a plain ol' dumbass, right? In fact, he'd be a monumental dumbass-crook, wouldn't he?

Chief Justice Thomas Moyer also appointed Justice Terrence O'Donnell to the Erie County Common Pleas Court located in Sandusky, Ohio. Not satisfied with defrauding the taxpayers in Cleveland, Terrence also did the same thing to Sandusky taxpayers by billing them for meals, lodging and/or mileage despite the fact he had a second home in Erie County.

Isn't it gratifying to know that Justice Terrence O'Donnell is sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court? What's next for Terrence? Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court when his Sugar Daddy Chief Justice Thomas Moyer is forced to resign in 2010? Would that like be cool or what?
