Sen. Chuck Grassley (IA): Today’s “Humanitarian” Award Winner
This isn’t the first Award presented to Mike. In the past, he has been the recipient of three (3) Awards in various categories and/or the subject of one (1) opinion piece. Those awards and opinion piece are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.
It should be noted that Grassley has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the last fifty-seven years (1959 to 2017). If it wasn’t for a government check, Chuck would likely have been relegated to working as a clerk at Sears or as a greeter at Walmart.
During a recent (early December 2017) interview with the Des Moines Register, Chuckie was asked to defend the so-called Republican tax reform bill that passed the Senate. In supporting the portion of the tax bill that eliminates the estate tax for billionaires and multi-millionaires, Chuckie had the chutzpah to say:
“I think not having the estate tax recognizes the people that are investing — as opposed to those that are just spending every darn penny they have, whether it’s on booze or women or movies.”
So here we have someone who has spent his entire adult life porking out on taxpayer funds claiming that a tax cut for middle and lower-class Americans would only result in them wasting that money on purchases of booze, going to the movies and/or on women. Its hard to imagine why Chuckie would be angry if a feller spent money on his women (wife), unless he’s alleging that working-class fellers spend their money on immoral women.
Apparently, Chuckie has no problem with his billionaire and millionaire donors spend hundreds of millions on purchases of fancy yachts and then get a tax break for doing so. But he gets into a frenzy from the thought that some factory worker in Iowa spends his money on taking his family to the movies or for drinking a couple of Bud Lights.
