Attorney Larry Byrd of Lufkin, TX; ethical gremlin

The state of Texas presented Larry G. Byrd with a law license in 1967 after he graduated from the University of Texas Law School.

The District 2 Grievance Committee found Larry guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Employed non-lawyers to engage in unethical conduct
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, dishonesty, deceit or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Larry by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 12-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Larry.

As speak (ca. November 2017), Patty practices with Stolmeier Law at 219 East Craig Place in San Antonio, Texas.
