Attorney Ruth Batey of Chicago; thieving loser

The state of Georgia provided Ruth Ann Batey with a law license in 1995 after she graduated from the Atlanta Law School.

The Indiana Disciplinary Commission is investigating Ruthie for engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Arrested and charged with Level 5 felony theft by Gary police
  • Failed to advise clients of receipt of $80,000 settlement check for at least one year
  • Prior to advising clients of $80,000 settlement payment, Ruthie already signed the check and deposited it into her office account
  • A second check of $8,750 was later received from the insurer and was also cashed and deposited into Ruthie’s office account.
  • None of the $87,750 was ever paid to the clients
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Made online and electronic withdrawals of client funds without written authorization

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Ruthie by the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. December 2017), Ruthie practices at 1313 North Ritchie Court in Chicago, Illinois.
