Attorney Mark Simmons of Baton Rouge; ethical gremlin

The state of Louisiana presented Mark G. Simmons with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from Southern Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Mark!)
  • Violated or attempt to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induce another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to take steps to protect client interests upon termination

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. December 2017), Mark practices with The Simmons Law Firm LLC at 334 Saint Jospeh Street in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
