Attorney Neil O’Connor of River Forest, IL; ethical gnome

The state of Illinois presented Neil Daniel O’Connor with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from Northwestern University Law School.

The Disciplinary Commission found Neil guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, after his law firm dissolved, his former partner, with whom he had an ongoing dispute, settled a civil case. Neil contacted his former partner’s opposing counsel in that case and gave him information that included the client’s confidential or secret statement concerning the amount he had been willing to accept in settlement.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Neil by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (October 2017), Neil practices with O’Connor & O’Connor at 240 Gale Avenue in River Forest, Illinois.
