DA Stacy Miller of Bellefonte, PA; ethical gnome

The state of Pennsylvania presented Stacy Parks Miller with a law license in 1994 after she graduated from Duquesne University Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel has found Stacy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Made improper texting contacts with judges
• Created fake Facebook page for the fake person “Britney Bella” to obtain information about defendants in cases she and/or her office was prosecuting
• Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) communications with judges
• At least two of the face “Britney Bella” account became Facebook friends with at least two defendants that Stacy knew were not represented by counsel
• Texted two judges about pending cases without informing defense lawyers
• Failed to correct a judge’s assertion that he hadn’t exchanged texts with the prosecutor, even though he had sent her 89 texts over a period of six months
• A defense exhibit included an email from Stacy to members of her staff advising them that they could use the Britney Bella page to “befriend defendants or witnesses if you want to snoop”

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Stacy by the enablers for Attorney/Prosecutor Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

It should be noted that Stacy has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past twenty-three years since she graduated from law school. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Bellefonte area was about to offer her a good paying job.
