Attorney Karen Uchiyama of San Francisco; ethical gremlin

The state of California provided Karen Yoko Uchiyama with a law license in 1991 after she graduated from the University of Pacific McGeorge Law School.

The California State Bar found Karen guilty of the following misconduct.

• Conduct significantly harmed the administration of justice
• In settlement, offered that her client would refrain from reporting another person to the government for SSI fraud
• Threatened to present criminal charges to obtain advantage in civil suit

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Karen by gifting her with a complimentary reproval.
