Attorney Steven Szocs of Los Angeles; repeat offender

The state of California provided Steven L. Szocs with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of West Los Angeles Law School. West LA Law School is a 4th tier school dedicated to serving losers that couldn’t get accepted into mainstream schools like UCLA, Pepperdine, USC or Stanford.

The California State Bar found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct

Stevie’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Abandoned his client
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Stevie!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Frankie by gifting him with a complimentary reproval.

Stevie’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Client lawsuits dismissed because Stevie failed to appear at show cause hearing
  • Failed to file response to motion to dismiss client’s lawsuit
  • Failed to pay $2,926 in court-imposed sanctions
  • Failed to advise client his lawsuits were dismissed
  • Failed to turn over client file to client after termination
  • Approached two jurors outside courthouse to ask them for a cigarette
  • Failed to notify judge he had contacted jurors
  • Failed to comply with probation conditions re: prior disciplinary action
  • Failed to submit six quarterly probation reports
  • Failed to perform legal services competently
  • Failed to keep client informed of developments in his case
  • Failed to respond to client inquiries
  • Improperly withdrew from client representation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Frankie by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.
