Judge Trudy White of Baton Rouge, LA; scamming loser

The state of Louisiana presented Trudy White with a law license in 2002 after she graduated from Louisiana State University (LSI) Law School.

In one matter, Trudy was aware that after defendants posted bail in her court they were not released until they paid hundreds of dollars more for pretrial supervision.

A $525 up-front fee is charged by Rehabilitation Home Incarceration (RHI) with the knowledge of Judge Trudy White, who sets bond and “indiscriminately orders” supervision by RHI, as alleged by a class action lawsuit by the ACLU.

After the defendants paid the $525 initial fee, they were also required to pay a monthly fee of $225, along with additional fees for services such as classes and electronic monitoring.

The ACLU lawsuit claims that RHI Cleve Dunn Sr. is operating an illegal racketeering enterprise and acting with government officials to violate detainees’ Fourth and 14th Amendment rights. The suit also alleges violation of state unfair trade practices law and unjust enrichment. (Debra Cassens Weiss)

It should be noted that Mr. Dunn’s son served as chair of Judge Trudy’s re-election committee in 2014. Over the next two years, after her re-election, Trudy assigned more than 300 people to RHI for pretrial supervision.

It would be laughable at best for Trudy to ever claim that she wasn’t either receiving a kickback on each referral or was doing her political donors a favor (pay to play).

All that’s left now is to see what if anything the District Attorney’s Office is going to do in investigating this matter.
