Justice Pat DeWine of Ohio; pompous loser

The state of Ohio presented Pat DeWine with law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of Michigan School of Law.

It should be noted that Patty has spent a significant amount of time (19-years) after graduating from law school with his snout firmly implanted in the public trough.

In one matter, Patty decided to put the arm on Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters to give his son a job as a paid intern.

State Sen. Cecil Thomas, aired his displeasure that Patty’s conduct by telling a CityBeat reporter: (James McNair)

“The story clearly, based on the emails, shows a relationship connection — and a collusion — between Joe Deters and Supreme Court Judge DeWine in getting the son a job.”

Sen. Thomas went on to ask fellow Republican, Ohio Chief Just Maureen O’Connor to appoint a special prosecutor to determine if any laws or codes of professional conduct were violated by Patty. Asking Maureen to investigate Patty is akin to asking Donald “Trumporleone” Trump to investigate Donald Trump Jr’s. role in Russiagate. Sen. Thomas went on to say:

  • “What we’re dealing with is a situation where nepotism and cronyism have gone on far too long.”
  • “So many people in our community who pay their taxes every day would like to know that their children have an opportunity just as all the individuals we see with family ties and friends of certain individuals.”

Nepotism and cronyism in Columbus, Ohio is synonymous with what we are witnessing in DC under the so-called leadership of Donald “Trumporleone” Trump. For anyone to believe that things will change in Ohio or DC is to believe that Trump has never, ever told a lie.

In a prior case, former judge Tracie Hunter was charged with similar conduct. She told CityBeat:

“I absolutely believe that Pat DeWine should be investigated, prosecuted and sentenced to jail.”

I’m totally confident that Patty will never have any ethics charges brought against him by Ohio’s so-called Judicial Conduct Commission since it is under the total control of a Republican administration. However, if Patty was a Democrat I’m sure he’d be facing disciplinary action.

As we speak (ca. October 2017), Patty continues to sit as an Associate Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court in Columbus, Ohio.
