Attorney Anthony Smereka of Livonia, MI; lazy loser

The state of Michigan provided Anthony R. Smereka with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #25 found Tony guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to file numerous applications for leave to appeal on behalf of clients
  • Failed to communicate with clients
  • Abandoned client’s w/o notifying them
  • Neglected legal matters entrusted to him
  • Filed appellate briefs past due date
  • Failed to send client copy of appeal brief
  • Failed to seek clients’ lawful objectives
  • Failed to expedite client litigation
  • Failed to timely file a number of appeal briefs which caused the Court of Appeals to place the appeals on the “no progress” docket
  • Failed to inform client of court’s disposition of appeal
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct by knowingly assisting or inducing another to do so, or doing so through the acts of another
  • Failed to take steps to protect client interests upon termination

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Panel punished Tony by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (December 2017), Tony is employed by the US Office of Disability Adjudication and Review at 19575 Victor Parkway in Livonia, Michigan.
