The state of New Jersey presented Cornelius W. Daniel III with a law license in 1969 after he graduated from Rutgers University Law School.

 

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Cornelius guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Cornelius’ 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to pursue client’s matter
  • Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Cornelius by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Cornelius’ 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Improperly released funds received as mortgage payment without first
  • obtaining a cancellation or discharge of the mortgage

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Cornelius by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Cornelius’ 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to properly supervise underlings
  • Failed to insure steps taken to protect client interests

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Cornelius by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Cornelius’ 4th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • After receipt of client settlement funds, failed to pay medical bills for 4 years

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Cornelius by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

 

Cornelius’ 5th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in gross neglect of client matters
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Lied to Mellon Mortgage about client’s first mortgage
  • Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Cornelius by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

As we speak (ca. November 2017), Cornelius practices at 2135 Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.
