Attorney Jon DeMasi of Woodbury, NJ; slacker, repeat offender

 

The state of New Jersey presented Jon Mitchell DeMasi with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from Rutgers University Law School.

 

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Jon guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Jon’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Jon!)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with clients
  • Engaged in gross neglect of client matters
  • Failed to take steps take steps to the extent reasonably practicable to protect a client's interests upon termination of the representation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Jon by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Jon’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in gross neglect of client matters
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of matter
  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to communicate basis for his fee to client
  • Engaged in a pattern of neglecting client matters
  • Revealed client’s confidential information
  • Used means having no purpose other than to embarrass or burden third person
  • Made false communications re: his services
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Jon!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Jon by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

As we speak (ca. December 2017), Jon practices at 44 Cooper Street in Woodbury, New Jersey.
