Trump filling the Swamp No. 6: hiring of Joseph Otting

In keeping with his “Serial Lie” that he was going to “Drain the Swamp,” Donald “Trumporleone” Trump recently (early August 2017) announced that he was appointing Joseph Otting as key Bank Regulator for the Trump Family Administration.

Joey’s prior experience was as the CEO of OneWestBank which was named as one of America’s Premier Home Foreclosure abusers after the 2006 collapse of the housing market.

Joey signed a legal agreement in 2011 with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency admitting that OneWest used “robosigning” practices that led to sham documents being used to oust hundreds of thousands of hardworking American homeowners into foreclosure and out of their homes.

In early 2017, a subsidiary of OneWest agreed to pay a $89 million settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice for defrauding the government out of insurance payments from the Federal Housing Administration.

As is always the case, fraudsters like Joey and those of his ilk never get prosecuted for engaging in criminal activity such as defrauding hundreds of thousands of Americans. However, let just one of those hardworking Americans get caught defrauding OneWest and see how long it takes for that person to hear those famous words “You have the right to remain silent”?

In March, a subsidiary of OneWest agreed to an $89 million settlement with the Department of Justice for defrauding the government out of insurance payments from the Federal Housing Administration. The bank, which is now owned by CIT Group, is also accused of racial discrimination in a complaint to the Department of Housing and Urban Development and remains under investigation by the attorney general of New York.

I wonder how many more Swamp Creatures The Don will have to appoint before his dyed-in-the-wool followers will finally recognize that they were duped by America’s Premier Snake-Oil Salesman.
