Attorney Richard Jones of Bellevue, WA; scammer, repeat offender

The state of Washington provided Richard Llewelyn Jones with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of Puget Sound Law School.

The Washington State Bar found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

Dick’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to maintain adequate records re: his possession of client funds
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Allowed Interest on Lawyers Trust Account (IOLTA) to become overdrawn
  • Wells Fargo check register missing various transactions
  • Unable to produce client ledgers
  • Wrote check on insufficient bank account (rubber)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Because Attorney Misfits in Washington are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Dick was never prosecuted for writing bad checks.

Dick’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Pursued claims and/or contentions he knew lacked any merit
  • Failed to be fair to opposing party and counsel
  • Failed to respect the rights of a third person
  • Failed to promptly comply with lawful discovery requests
  • Failed to notify opposing counsel that client injured and could not appear at scheduled deposition until opposing counsel appeared at the scheduled deposition
  • Court sanctioned Dick and his client for filing frivolous [BS] claims
  • Dick filed unsuccessful appeal of trial court imposition of sanctions
  • Appellate court sanction Dick for filing frivolous appeal
  • Knowingly obstructed another party’s access to evidence
  • Utilized means with no purpose other than to embarrass or burden a party

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2017), Dick practices with Kovac & Jones PLLC at 1750 112th Avenue NE in Bellevue, Washington.
