Attorney Amatullah Booth of New York City; bullying loser

The state of New York presented Amatullah Booth with a law license in 2008 after she graduated from Texas Southern University Law School.

In one matter, Booth was acting as assistant corporation counsel involving a case wherein Hector Cordero is suing several police officers and government entities alleging he was wrongfully arrested in 2014 for charges that were eventually dropped. (Andrew Denney, New York Law Journal)

During the deposition of New York City Police Officer John Essig, Ms. Booth made more than 600 objections. In fact, 84% of the deposition transcript of the eight-hour deposition involved the asinine and repetitive objections made by Booth.

As a direct consequence of her obnoxious conduct, Eastern District Magistrate Judge Cheryl Pollak sanctioned Booth by ordering that she and/or her office pay the total costs of the transcript of the 8-hour deposition, which are estimated to be in excess of $3,000.

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Booth by the disciplinary authorities for her highly unethical conduct.

As we speak (ca. August 2017), Ms. Booth continues to be employed as a corporation attorney at 100 Church Street in New York, New York.
