State Sen. Bryce Marlatt (R-OK): Today’s Public Official Misfit

In 2008, Bryce duped the voters in the greater Woodward area into electing him as a member of the Oklahoma State Senate.

In late June 2017, Bryce was arrested after being accused of forcefully grabbing and kissing his female Uber driver without her consent. (Emma Gray)

The police report stated that the Uber driver approached a police officer on June 28 and told him she was “unsure what she needed to do,” but that she had been assault on June 26. The driver then told the officer that a customer had “made advances on her during transit” while she was taking to his hotel.

The police reports states that the Uber drive described how Bryce had “grabbed her forcefully” and “kissed her on the neck while she was driving.”

As one would suspect, Bryce denies that he sexually assaulted the Uber driver. Bryce’s so-called attorney told KFOR TV in Oklahoma City that “the senator is shocked and surprised by the allegations and has asked his legal counsel to work with Uber to get to the bottom of this.” Clearly, Bryce’s attorney missed his calling as a standup comedian.

On July 7, 2017, Senate President Pro Tem Mike Schulz (R-Altus) said Bryce will be removed from his chairmanship of the Senate Energy Committee and his vice-chairmanships of the Rules and Transportation Committees.

In a true display of bipartisanship, Schulz only provided copies of his letter to his fellow Republicans.

All that’s left now is to see how long it takes for Bryce to cop a plea in order to reduce and/or eliminate the amount of time he would have to spend in prison.

And lastly, it should be noted that Bryce the is married with three children. As a true Family Man and Born Again Christian Bryce will likely claim that he sought and received forgiveness from his wife and more importantly from God.

As we speak (ca. July 2017), Bryce remains sitting as an Oklahoma State Senator.
