Attorney William Butler of Westfield, NJ; ethical gnome

The state of New Jersey presented William B. Butler with a law license in 1967 after he graduated from Seton Hall University Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Billy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conflict of interest
  • Represented buyer and seller in real estate transaction
  • Failed to advise seller clients of buyer’s contract to sell property to third party
  • Misconduct caused serious financial damage to seller clients
  • Failed to appreciate seriousness of misconduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2017) Billy practices with Butler and Butler at 501 Lenox Avenue in Westfield, New Jersey.
