Attorney Matthew Cohen of Santa Monica, CA; ethical goblin

The state of California provided Matthew Jeremy Cohen with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the Pepperdine University Law School.

The California State Bar found Matty guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Matty was suspended for 18 months from practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a direct result of misconduct in another jurisdiction.

Said misconduct involved Matty neglecting at least one legal matter, failing to properly maintain client property and keep complete records, sharing fees with a non-lawyer, accepting compensation from someone other than the client and making a misrepresentation.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. December 2017), Matty practices with The Law Offices of Hart J. Levin at 233 Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica, California.
