Ex-Judge Bridget McCafferty of Cleveland; congenital liar, loser, convict
 
The Ohio Supreme Court made a grievous error when it presented Bridget McCafferty with a law license in 1991 after her graduation from Cleveland State University.
Unfortunately, Debbie succeeded in duping the voters in Cuyahoga County (Cleveland) into electing her to a bench on the Cuyahoga Common Pleas Court in 1999.
While sitting on the bench Debbie became affiliated with several corrupt politicians in Cleveland (Is there another kind?), some of whom have been found guilty of a plethora of public corruption. Because of Debbie’s close association with some of these crooks, she was interviewed by the FBI.
Debbie lies to FBI
While being interviewed by the FBI, Debbie repeatedly lied to them. This led to her later being indicted by a federal grand jury. During a week-long trial in March 2011, the jury found Debbie guilty of 10 counts of lying to the FBI. Each count carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. It only took the jury 4 hours to convict Debbie of lying to the FBI. Most of that time was spent going to the bathroom and eating lunch. An unreliable source indicated that all members of the jury were convinced beyond all doubt that Debbie lied because when did so her “lips were moving.”
Debbie lies that she’s a Workaholic
Debbie was also accused of misleading the Ohio Supreme Court about her backlog of cases in an effort to portray herself as an honest, hard-working judge with the lowest number of pending cases on the Court.
To support her false workaholic claim, Debbie reported to the Supreme Court that she had only 356 pending cases when in fact she had 629.
Debbie lies about her academic credentials
Debbie was also accused of falsely claiming on her campaign website that she graduated summa cum laude from Miami University. Plain Dealer reporter James McCarty contacted the University and discovered that this claim was untrue. However, to be fair to Debbie, it appears that this was just a typo on her website. Rather than graduating summa cum laude, Debbie meant to say “scum laude.”
Debbie the Convict is scheduled to be sentenced by Federal Judge Sarah Lioi in Akron on August 2, 2011. However, Debbie had the chutzpah to ask Judge Lioi to cancel sentencing her until her appeal of conviction is heard by the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. This is an asinine request since most appeals can take as long as two or more years.
Since Debbie could be sentenced to 50 years in prison, I believe that Judge Lioi should sentence her to at least 10 years in order to send a resounding message to any other judicial officers that find it convenient to treat their oath of office with utter contempt.
