Mitch McConnell (R-KY): Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Sen. Mitch McConnell
Today’s Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

Sen. McConnell is at it again in an ever-ending attempt to prove his bona fides as one of America’s most unaccomplished comedians.

Shortly after the jury acquitted Casey Anthony of murder, Mitch said her trial is proof that American courts aren’t proper venues for trials of suspected terrorists. Goshes and Gollies Rodney, I didn’t know that Casey Anthony was a terrorist.

While appearing on Fox News Sunday on July 10, 2011, Rodney said, “We found with the Caylee Anthony case how difficult it is to get a conviction in a U.S. Court.”

As is the case with most unemployed comedians, Rodney spews forth one-liners that fail to garner any laughter from their audience. This could be attributed to the fact that the conviction rate in federal courts is nearly 100%.

Rodney apparently believes that had Casey been tried by a military commission at Guantanamo Bay she likely would have been convicted. Well Rodney, military law also requires that guilt must be established “beyond a reasonable doubt.”

I suspect Rodney would have supported water-boarding Casey in order to extract a confession from her since he finds it acceptable conduct when dealing with male terrorists.

Unfortunately for Rodney he may well have to seek implementation of his ideal justice system from fellow comedian Muammar Gadaffi.

Congrats Mitch; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as a standup comedian; you are far too humble.
