Attorney Stephanie Carson of Detroit; slacker, serial offender

The state of Michigan presented Stephanie A. Carson with a law license in 1997 after she graduated from the University of Detroit Law School.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel found Stephanie guilty of the following misconduct.

Stephanie’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct and/or knowingly assisted or induced another to do so
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Stephanie!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Stephanie by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

Stephanie’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Neglected legal matter entrusted to her
• Failed to seek lawful objectives of client
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Knowingly failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Stephanie!)
• Engaged in conduct contrary to justice, ethics, honesty or good morals

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Stephanie by gifting her with a complimentary 30-day suspension of her law license.

Stephanie’s 3^rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct and/or knowingly assisted or induced another to do so

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Stephanie by gifting her with a complimentary 45-day suspension of her law license.
