Attorney Sylvester Turner of Houston; ethical elf

The state of Texas presented Sylvester Turner with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Harvard University Law School.

The District 4-H Grievance Committee found Sylvester guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to inform client of trial date
  • Failed to appear at trial on client’s behalf
  • Default entered against client re: pending divorce
  • Failed to advise client of default judgment in divorce case

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Sylvester by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. May 2017), Sylvester practices with the Houston Mayor’s Office at 901 Bagby in Houston, Texas.
