The state of North Carolina presented Edgar F. Bogle with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from Wake Forest University Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Edgar guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to perform quarterly reconciliations of firm’s trust account
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Failed to maintain ledgers for each client
• Failed to provide accounting to clients re: client funds
• Failed to comply with required trust account recordkeeping procedures
• Allowed entrusted funds to be disbursed in manner not authorized by or for the benefit of a client
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Victims of misconduct were vulnerable

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Edgar by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Edgar.
