The state of North Carolina presented Pauline Epie Makia with a law license in 2003 after she graduated from the University of North Carolina Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Pauline guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to properly supervise office staff
• Engaged in multiple acts of misconduct
• Failed to ensure proper handling of entrusted funds
• Failed to ensure compliance with HUD lender requirements
• Failed to maintain and disburse entrusted funds
• Failed to provide competent representation (idiot)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Pauline gifting her with a complimentary stayed 5-year suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Pauline.
