Attorney Vaughn Bailey of Fort Worth, TX; ethical leprechaun

The state of Texas presented Vaughn L. Baily with a law license in 1979after he graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Law School.

The District 7-A Grievance Committee found Vaughn guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Allowed client case to be dismissed for his failure to prosecute it
  • Failed to advise client his case had been dismissed
  • Failed to file motion to reinstate client’s case
  • Failed to return client phone calls
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Vaughn!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Vaughn by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Vaughn.

As we speak (ca. January 2018), Vaughn practices at 2800 South Hulen Street in Fort Worth, Texas.
