Attorney Robert Burford of Raleigh, NC; ethical dwarf

The state of North Carolina presented Robert J. Burford with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Southern Methodist University Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Bobby guilty of the following misconduct.

• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to identify on face of trust account withdrawal slip client account balances wherein Bobby disbursed over $20,000 in fees payable to himself
• Failed to maintain quarterly reconciliations of client trust accounts

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Bobby gifting him with a complimentary censure.
