Attorney Shelley Weinberg of Denville, NJ; ethical elf

The state of New Jersey presented Shelley A. Weinberg with a law license in 1988 after she graduated from Touro College Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Ethics found Shelley guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to advise cleint about important aspects of the case
  • Conduct adversely reflected on all members of the bar
  • Erroneously advised client his claim had been denied by SSA (Social Security Admin)
  • Failed to explain error re: SSA claim to client
  • Failed to notify client you had terminated the representation
  • Failed to notify client of her intent to retain portion of attorney fee client paid while she explored avenues of appeal in SSA matter

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Shelley by gifting her with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. May 2017), Shelley practices with Aiello Harris Devero Marth & Schiffman PC at 501 Watchung Avenue in Watchung, New Jersey.

As one would suspect, the Aiello Harris law firm failed to mention Shelley’s misconduct in its self-serving website at www.aielloharris.com. Apparently, the firm chose to conceal this relevant information so as to not limit its future victim pool.
