Attorney Thomas Hoffman of Merrillville, IN; ethical elf

The state of Indiana presented Thomas K. Hoffman a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the John Marshall Law.

The Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to explain matter to extent necessary to permit client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
• Engaged in conduct prohibiting a lawyer from representing a client if the representation of that client may be materially limited by the lawyer's responsibilities to another client or a third person, or by the lawyer's own interests

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
