Attorney Donald Carnow of Northfield, IL; ethical leprechaun

The state of Illinois presented Donald Carnow with a law license in 1967 after he graduated from the John Marshall Law School.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Donnie guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, one of Donnie’s clients was seeking a zoning variance for a piece of property so he could convert its use from a savings and loan to a nursing home. To unduly influence an employee of the Chicago city council's Committee on Building and Zoning and a Democratic Party committeeman, Donnie participated in paying the employee $20,000 for his assistance in obtaining the zoning variance.

Subsequently, the employee was prosecuted for receiving a bribe from Donnie and his partner; however, Donnie evaded prosecution when he agreed to testify against the employee accepting the $20,000.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Donnie by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (January 2018), Donnie practices with Carnow & Carnow Ltd. at 778 West Frontage Road in Northfield, Illinois.
