Judge Rennee Crofoot of Pen Yan, NY; ethical goblin

The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct found Rennee guilty of the following misconduct.

• Sent email to another court in a pending custody proceeding wherein she criticized one of the parties
• In her communication with another court, Rennee identified herself as a judge in effort to lend the prestige of her judicial office while advancing a private interest
• Improperly interjected herself into an ongoing custody dispute

Rather than await a decision from the Judicial Commission as to the punishment she would receive, Rennee took the cowards way out and resigned from her judicial office as Barrington Town Court Justice.

As we speak (ca. November 2018), it is rumored that Rennee has applied for a job as a greeter at the Walmart Supercenter in Geneva, New York.
