Judge Robert A. Kelly of Long Island, NY: moron, ethically debilitated
Robert Kelly was presented with a law license by the New York Appellate Court in 1990 after graduation from Fordham University School of Law.
Judge Robert Kelly sits as a Justice of the Westhampton Beach Village Court in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Unfortunately he has held this position since 1996.
As a part time judge (Justice of the Peace), Bobby was allowed to continue with his private practice of law with Kelly & Hulme located in Westhampton Beach. On its website the Kelly firm claims it specializes in real estate and land use.
In late 2010, the Judicial Commission found Judge Kelly guilty of the engaging in numerous conflicts of interest. These conflicts included Bobby’s law firm representing clients that were suing Westhampton Beach Village, which was of course Bobby’s employer. In fact, some of the lawsuit involved appeals before the Westhampton Zoning Board.
Bobby did not deny that he shared (50/50 split) in the fees earned by his two-man firm that involved lawsuits against his employer, Westhampton Beach. It is unlawful for any part-time judge in New York from sharing profits earned from lawsuits against the town in which the judge sits.
As a result of his misconduct, the enablers sitting on the New York Judicial Commission punished Bobby the Loser by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.
As we speak (ca. June 2011) Bobby the Loser continues to sit on the bench on the Village Court in Westhampton.
