Attorney Ray Fisher of Austin; thief, repeat offender

The state of Texas presented Ray Fisher with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from South Texas University Law School.

The District 9 Grievance Committee found Ray guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of matter
  • Failed to comply with client information requests
  • Failed to take any action to negotiate with client debtor
  • Failed to provide invoice for legal services to client
  • Failed to refund unearned fees of $5,000 (thief)
  • Lied to client that he would provide invoice detailing legal services to client and that he would refund unearned fees to the client

As one would suspect this wasn’t Louie’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary suspension for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Ray by gifting him with a complimentary 1-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2017), Ray practices in Austin, Texas.
