Attorney Jose Gomez of Edinburg, TX; ethical gremlin

The state of Texas presented Jose Antonio Gomez with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from St. Mary’s University Law School.

The District 12-B Grievance Committee found Jose guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to explain the matters to the extent necessary to permit his clients to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Neglected matter entrusted to him
  • Negligence led to statute of limitations tolling on client claims

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Jose by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2017), Jose practices at 119 North 9th Avenue in Edinburg, Texas.
