Attorney J. Paul Nelson of Henderson, TX; ethical goblin

The state of Texas presented J. Paul Nelson with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Baylor University Law School.

The District 2-A Grievance Committee found Paulie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to setup trust account on behalf of client
  • Entered into loan agreement with client that was unfair to client
  • Client forced to hire another attorney for return of funds loaned to Paulie
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to explain the matters to the extent necessary to permit his clients to make informed decisions regarding the representation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Paulie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2017), Paulie practices with the Nelson Law Office in Henderson, Texas.
