Attorney John Baker of Dallas, TX; ethical leprechaun

The state of Texas presented Scott Russell Baker with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Law School.

The 298th District Court of Dallas County found Scotty guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to deposit funds into client trust account
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to take steps to protect client interests after termination
  • Knowingly violated rules or assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another, whether such violation occurred during a client-lawyer relationship

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Scotty by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2017), Scotty practices in Dallas, Texas.
